Daniela Ramirez

Daniela Ramirez Butavand studied physics (B.Sc. & M.Sc.) at the University of Buenos Aires from 2009 to 2015. She then did her PhD in cognitive neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Pedro Bekinschtein and Dr. Fabricio Ballarini and completed her thesis on the topic “Biological mechanisms involved in memory and pattern separation in humans: effects of physical activity and novelty” in 2021.

Daniela Ramirez Butavand then completed an internship at the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lucia Melloni on the topic “Schematic and episodic predictive processes” and taught a master’s degree course on the topic “Cognitive Neuroscience of Consciousness and Memory” at the Goethe University in 2022. Since December 2022, she has been working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Exercise, Training and Active Aging in collaboration with the Central Institute of Mental Health (CIMH), Mannheim.
Daniela’s research focuses on the interaction between physical exercise and sleep, and how this relationship influences brain plasticity and memory processes.
